The F-Rank Foot Soldier Volume 1: Rise of the Weakest Tamer

Riven Wrangleman, an F-Rank foot soldier, is on the verge of embarking on a new, monster-filled (hopefully) peaceful life. Shot out of the known world by humanity's worst enemy, he is falling through the sky, seemingly plummeting to his death, until he nullifies Fall Damage with his F-Rank Skill. Battered, bleeding, and starving, Riven lies on the floor, only to be approached by a slime that he would expectedly be eaten by, except he isn't.

Riven finds himself in a strange jungle, far from the known world, where he is still alive and breathing. His skills have been augmented, allowing him to tame monsters. Physically and mentally defeated, and with no way of making it back to the known world, Riven comes to terms with the fact that he is retired from soldiering and must go back to basics.

With the help of his first tamed monsters, an exploring slime and a giant spider, Riven sets out to build a home for himself and thrive in this strange land. From taming monsters to building homes and refining fruits, his life takes a whole new direction. Meanwhile, the land holds a big and beautiful secret that awaits someone to come rouse her, and if she returns, the world will be forever changed. Riven's world most of all.
